What's an ice bath?

An ice bath is sitting in very cold water, usually between 0-12°C, for a short period.

Research shows potential benefits including:

  • reduced inflammation,

  • improved stress response,

  • better sleep,

  • faster physical recovery,

  • and increased mental clarity.

Are ice baths dangerous?

Yes, cold immersion can trigger:

  • panic,

  • dangerous heart rate drops,

  • or emotional trauma responses.

Doing it alone or with untrained guidance can lead to serious injuries and deaths.

With proper breathwork, you can prepare your nervous system before entering cold water. This calms your stress response and builds resilience.
